About this mod Machine translation

War Traders · War Traders

Transform war itself into a commodity available for negotiation.

  • Module Overview

This module adds two new diplomatic interactions to Crusader Kings III, allowing rulers to negotiate with neighboring rulers about the price of sending troops to war. Anyone who meets the geographical and war status conditions can use it

The module has an independent [War Deal] column in the right-click interaction menu to distinguish it from the original diplomatic interaction.

  • Interactive content

① Conditionally participate in the war

Applicable conditions

The other party is a neighboring ruler and is directing a war;

Both parties own territory and are not at war with each other.

Effect

It is up to oneself to set out the price to the other party. After the other party agrees, the consideration is delivered immediately, and you immediately join the war commanded by the other party as a temporary ally.

② Invite to join the war through trading

Applicable conditions

Our own side is directing a war;

The other party is a neighboring ruler, is not in a state of war, and has not yet assembled its army;

Both parties own territory and are not at war with each other.

Effect

It is up to oneself to propose a consideration to the other party and invite it to send troops to help. After the other party agrees, the consideration is delivered immediately, and the other party immediately joins the war under its own command.

  • Form of consideration

The following conditions can be put forward in each consultation, and each item can be checked at the same time, with superimposed effects:

Money - divided into three levels: appropriate remuneration, normal remuneration, and large remuneration;

Strong Diversion - Request or transfer a strong diversion;

Landed title - claim or transfer a county or duchy title (excluding baronies, kingdoms and above).

If three levels of money are checked at the same time, the actual payment amount will be the sum of the three. The more gears you check, the more you pay, and the higher the other party's willingness to agree; conversely, the more you ask for in [Conditional Participation in War], the lower the other party's willingness to agree.

  • Pricing mechanism

The amount of money is calculated based on the level and military strength of the party sending troops, and does not depend on the financial resources of the party paying. Therefore, the price required to invite a powerful king is significantly higher than that of inviting a small earl.

Level base price: Baron 15 / Earl 40 / Duke 80 / King 150 / Emperor and above 250;

Military value: existing military strength × 0.02;

Gear coefficient: Appropriate remuneration 60% / Normal remuneration 100% / Large remuneration 150%;

Amount range: approximately 25 to 1200 gold.

The probability of the other party agreeing increases with the reward. If the other party is in financial constraints (the treasury is less than 50 gold, or has fallen into debt), the attraction of money will be significantly increased; at this time, the effect of giving the highest level of remuneration will be particularly obvious.

  • Definition of temporary allies

After the negotiation is concluded, the participating parties will only be included in the war list and no alliance will be formed: they will not enter the alliance list, alliance obligations and related events will not be triggered, and the relationship will be automatically terminated after the war.

  • Artificial Intelligence Behavior

AI rulers will also use the above two interactions: they will make offers to players, and they will also actively hire neighboring rulers to join the war. Its decision-making comprehensively considers the favorability of both sides, the progress of the war, the comparison of military power, the similarities and differences in character and beliefs.

It does not overwrite any original definitions, only adds new …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
