Real estate type conversion (XenoAmess maintenance version)
Independently maintained based on Bai Qi's Change the holding types, adapted to Crusader Kings III 1.20.0.3. Please replace the original work with a maintenance version to avoid loading the same resolution definition at the same time.
Function
In the "Real Estate Conversion Decision", select a barony that you directly hold and convert the existing property into a castle, city, temple, tribe, nomadic settlement or temple fortress. Each conversion only affects the selected property, these resolutions are not used by the AI.
The character must be adult, active, and at peace; the selected property must be built, not rented, have no buildings under construction, and be of a different type than the target. Converting to a castle requires cultural innovation "innovation_motte"; converting to a city or temple requires "urban planning".
The personal gold coin cost for each conversion to use the original work: main_building_tier_1_cost of the original first-level main building; the benchmark for CK3 1.20.0.3 is 400 gold coins, and the specific cost is subject to the decision window.
Please understand the conversion results first
Incompatible buildings may be lost. The conversion uses the original property type change mechanism, with no commitment to retaining all buildings or original building levels. Government applicability, income, and inheritance requirements for real estate continue to be in effect; this mod does not provide government restructuring capabilities.
Maintain content
Fixed the real estate selector updated in CK3 1.20, updated the native GUI data model and selected target verification, corrected the decision character scope, and added target qualifications and building loss prompts. Maintain the six public decision IDs, type ranges, gold coin costs and innovation requirements of the original work.

English
Independent XenoAmess-maintained edition of Baiqi's Change the holding types, adapted for CK3 1.20.0.3. Replace the original rather than loading both editions together.
Select one existing, directly held, unleased barony with no ongoing construction. Convert its holding to a castle, city, temple, tribal settlement, nomad settlement, or temple citadel. These decisions are available to human players only. The character must be an available adult at peace; castle conversion requires Earthworks, while city and temple conversion require City Planning.
The original personal-gold cost is retained: the vanilla tier-one main-building cost, with a baseline of 400 gold in CK3 1.20.0.3. Check the decision window for its displayed cost.
Incompatible buildings may be lost. The mod does not guarantee preservation of all buildings or their levels. Government compatibility, income and inheritance rules still apply; the mod does not provide a government-reform feature. The preview image comes from the original author's thumbnail.png.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
