About this mod Machine translation

Faith UI

The 1.20 belief window is built around 3 core tenets and 7 hard limits on vices and virtues. This mod raises those limits and, more importantly, allows the interface to actually show what's out there - and to re-cancel a principle.

What's wrong

Merely raising the tax cap is useless. The Faith window does not read rituals directly - it reads a list created by the game, which is chopped at FAITH_CORE_TENETS_CAP. Beyond third down, the extra point remains in the rescue and has not been returned. No .gui changes alone will solve this problem. Sins and Virtues have the same problem from the opposite direction: Faith generates them from each creed, then discards those that exceed MAX_VIRTUES_SINS, keeping a maximum of 7.

What this module does

Core Creeds - The window can now display up to 100 Creeds, with a vertical scroll bar in the grid

Vices and Virtues - up to 80, arranged in rows, with independent scroll bars instead of stacked icons in a row

Remove Core Creed down to 3 players with just one click - see below for details

There are 6 Creed slots available in the Ritual Reform interface, the rest are accessible by scrolling

The entire belief bar scrolls and the action buttons (Reform, Edit Ritual, Transform) are outside the scroll area so they are always within reach

Faith Details, Doctrine Tags - "Known" creed lists wrap around 3 per line instead of extending from the edge of the window

Rite widgets in event windows - wrap 4 widgets per row instead of stretching widgets off screen

Ecumenical Council aligns with new boundaries

Remove core tenets

The X button on Creed. No piety cost, no reformation, no cooldown - it takes effect the moment you click it. How to use: Open the main faith interface and click the X on the creed you want to eliminate. That's the whole process. The It only exists where removal is allowed, so you never see any invalid buttons: In plain vanilla faith, with three core tenets, there is no X at all. The floor is 3 floors. When there are 3 core tenets left in the ritual, X no longer appears, which is what every common faith has. You must never, accidentally or intentionally, deprive a ritual of anything less than this standard. I prefer to keep 3 since it is difficult to test all effects with less than 3 creeds. Only your own beliefs. The button will check whether the ritual belongs to the faith of your current character. Navigating another faith in the religion window will show its creeds, but without the You can only edit your own ritual from your own chair.

So the division of labor is: reform interface will add core tenets, X will remove them. No more one-way doors - mistakenly select the fourth, fifth or sixth item, close the reform interface, and then go right back to the third item, in any combination.

Want to have more than 6 places in the reform interface?

The reform interface will extract a clickable slot based on the allowed principles, and the code behind these slots is written for the original 3 caps. Clicking on an over-numbered slot will crash the game - this is compiled code and cannot be patched via script, so the mod won't draw the extra slot at all. 26 is the highest number tested without incident. The module ships with 6 as it is actually more than enough. If you want more, both numbers must move at the same time:

What needs to be changed

GUI/window_rite_creation.GUI

Replace the 6 in the visible line = "[LessThan_int32(TenetItem.GetSlotIndex, '(int32)6' )]" - this is the number of slots.

common/script_values/zzz_faith_ui_values.txt

Set pam_faith_core_tenets_cap_value to the same number. This is what the Ecumenical Council said.

Optional, in the same .gui file: size = { 600 230 } On tenets_grid_scrollbox controls how many rows are displayed without scrolling. 230 is 3 in a row; add 220 for each additional row. If you don't move it, it will keep one row, and the extra cells will go into the scroll bar, where they won't take up space. Two warnings, clearly stated: …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
