This MOD is almost always compatible with all versions because it does not modify any original files; it is also highly compatible with most mods. This MOD can also run normally without the All Under Heaven DLC installed, but this DLC can significantly enhance the gameplay experience, so it is highly recommended.
What is the function of this module?
Generation names (Generation Names, "항렬자" in Korean, "Zai" or "Xingdai" in Chinese) are a naming tradition widely used in East Asia, especially in China, South Korea and Vietnam. These languages have similar name structures: a one-syllable (sometimes two-syllable) surname followed by a two-syllable (sometimes one) first name. Among these syllables of a name, there is usually one that is designated as a generational name, that is, a syllable shared by family members of the same generation. A good explanation of this system can be found on Wikipedia: AI rulers can all adopt generational naming rules. Use a unified naming system to demonstrate the strong bond and cohesion between family members.
Core features
Create generational name rules for your family, choosing from the Ten Heavenly Stems, Twelve Earthly Branches, and Wuxing (五行, 오행).
Assign specific Chinese characters (Hanzi/Hanja) to each generation you choose.
Newborns will be automatically renamed to match your family's naming rules.
AI rulers using Chinese, Korean, or Vietnamese will try to adopt generational naming rules.
Families in history will use generation names (zi generation) according to real history.
compatibility
Support Ironman mode. This mod is (theoretically) compatible with almost all mods. Since this mod does not modify any name lists, it is also compatible with mods that change the original name lists (such as adding more name candidates for relevant cultures). You can safely install this mod while the game is in progress, but uninstalling it while a save is in progress is not guaranteed to be absolutely safe (although it generally does not cause game damage; the CK3 engine can handle most exceptions).
