Basic UI, HUD and subtitle scaling tools
This tool allows you to bypass the game's default UI, subtitles, and HUD scaling restrictions. Easily increase your UI/HUD size beyond 100% of the maximum locked value, or reduce to any custom value (e.g. 120%, 50%). This is a starting point for resizing your UI for high-resolution displays or improving accessibility. Runs in the background.

Basic UI HUD and Subtitle Scaler
🎯 About this tool
"Crimson Desert" currently locks the maximum scaling of the UI and HUD at 100%, which is very unfriendly to players with high-resolution displays or those who require accessibility features. 😫 I desperately needed a solution to see those tiny text, so I quickly made this memory patch tool to force the game to accept higher scaling values. I also added a small switch that increases the subtitle size slightly above the game's default maximum.

⚠️ Must read before downloading
Let me be clear: **This is not a perfect, set-and-forget fix. ** This is just a very basic, hasty, temporary solution, purely for personal needs. I haven't spent much time polishing it since Pearl Abyss will almost certainly have an official patch coming soon with proper UI sliders (at least I hope so).
This is just a temporary "band-aid" that allows me to play the game normally for now.
Since the game itself is not designed to scale beyond 100%, if you increase the value too high (such as above 140%), the UI and HUD elements will most likely start to overlap each other. You'll need to experiment with different values yourself to find the ratio that looks right on your screen.

🛠️ How to use (.EXE version)
- Launch Crimson Desert and load your save file.
- Run the tool.
- Enter your desired UI and HUD scaling (for example: 120).
- If you want larger subtitles, check the box *(Important: the in-game subtitle size must be set to "Large" for this to take effect)*.
- Click Apply and Lock.
- Return to the game. Open the settings menu and change any option (such as audio volume) to force the interface to refresh.
*IMPORTANT:* Please keep this tool running in the background while you play the game, otherwise the game will eventually reset the UI back to 100%.

🛡️ False positives and source code
Since this tool actively injects and locks memory addresses (similar to Cheat Engine), it is very likely that Windows Defender or a browser scanner will flag the .exe file as a virus or Trojan. If you don't trust compiled .exe files, I totally understand. You can find the original Python source code (.py files) in the Optional Files section of this page or on my GitHub. You can read the code yourself and run it directly from your computer after analysis.
How to run the original Python script:
- Download and install Python on your computer.
- Open command prompt (cmd) as **administrator**.
- Install the required libraries by entering:
```
pip install pymem
```
- Run the script by entering:
```
python CDScalePatcher.py
```
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
