Features

  • HSV colour wheel picker
  • RGB sliders
  • HEX colour input (3 or 6 digit)
  • Live colour preview
  • Copy / Paste HEX from system clipboard
  • Networked — other modded players see your custom colour
  • Applies to both player model and forklift
  • Configurable toggle key (default: F8)
  • Colour persists between game sessions
  • Use Default button to return to the game's normal colour

Installation

All players who want to see custom HEX colours must install the mod.

  • Copy PlayerHEX.dll into BepInEx/plugins.
  • Launch the game.

Usage

Press F8 to open the colour picker window.

  • Drag on the colour wheel to pick hue and saturation.
  • Adjust brightness with the V slider.
  • Fine-tune with R, G, B sliders.
  • Type any hex code in the HEX field and press Enter.
  • Click Apply to save and synchronise the colour to the network.
  • Click Reset to revert the preview to the saved colour.
  • Click Use Default to clear your custom colour and return to the game's normal colour system.
  • Use Copy HEX / Paste HEX to share colours outside the game.

Configuration

Config file is created at:

BepInEx/config/strazer.playerhex.cfg

| Setting | Default | Description |

|---------|---------|-------------|

| Enabled | true | Enable or disable the mod |

| PlayerColourHex | #FFFFFF | HEX colour applied to player and forklift |

| WindowToggleKey | F8 | Key to toggle the colour picker window |

Supported HEX Formats

| Input | Result |

|-------|--------|

| #FFFFFF | White |

| FFFFFF | White |

| #FF0000 | Red |

| FFD700 | Gold |

| #FFF | White (shorthand) |

| FFF | White (shorthand) |

Invalid values are silently rejected.

Multiplayer Behaviour

  • Custom colours are synced using a custom Mirror NetworkMessage (NetMsgCustomPlayerColor).
  • The colour is sent once when you click Apply; it is not sent every frame.
  • The server validates that the sender owns the netId before propagating the colour.
  • Vanilla clients (players without the mod) will see the game's default index-based colour, not your custom HEX colour.
  • All players who wish to see custom HEX colours must have Strazer's Player HEX installed.

Known Limitations

  • The colour picker uses Unity IMGUI. It disappears when the HUD is hidden (e.g. loading screens). Press F8 to reopen it.
  • Colour wheel precision is limited by the 256x256 texture.
  • Vanilla clients cannot see custom HEX colours.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
  3. For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.

Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.

Dependencies

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
