Install:
Please follow the instructions during the installation process and read any warnings or pop-up messages carefully before proceeding.
CMI only works with the latest version of the game (i.e. the latest version as of the CMI release date) including the English version and the two Japanese versions
(CR version and non-CR version) (excluding steam version and Dlsite Chinese version)
If your version of the game is too outdated, the CMI installer will abort for security and integrity reasons. CMI can be downloaded and
Install the latest COM update (the game will be updated when an old version is detected), or you can go to the kiss official website update page yourself
download. Please update the game before trying to install again.
When selecting the installation path, please select the game root directory where the COM3D2.exe file exists. The installer will detect your installation path.
If you have multiple versions of the game (CR, non-CR, English version), CMI will prioritize the non-CR Japanese version as the default
path. You can choose the location of the version of the game you want to install, and the installer will adjust accordingly.
You will see a long list of plug-ins. You can select the plug-ins you want to install by checking the box next to the plug-in. For details about the plug-ins, please read the "Important Components", "Patches" and "Plug-ins" sections in the instructions for use.
For English-language games downloaded from Steam, it is recommended to install the "Integration Pack for Non-Japanese Versions of the Game".
(See the "Plug-in Integration Overview" section below for more details.) Your custom choices for plug-ins will be recorded by CMI and used when you later update the game environment with newer versions of CMI plug-in packages. (See the “Custom Plug-in Integration” section for more information.)
You can also perform some final checks before the installation begins. If the CMI installer does not automatically detect the installation directory of your game, you need to confirm that the "Repair Registry Directory" option is checked to ensure that each upgrade package and DLC package can use the registry to locate your game.
If you only want to install a single plugin without affecting the entire plugin setup, you can uncheck "Clear old plugin environment" and the installer will only install on the current setup, overwriting files if needed.
There are two types of purge old plug-in functionality in CMI:
One is to back up all old files to the automatically created /COM3D2/OldInstall folder. This op …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
