About this mod Machine translation
Solitaire Sandbox
Solitaire Sandbox randomly removes AI opponents, city-states, barbarians, and pretty much everything else in the game. The result is a peaceful card game mode focused on economy building. Use it alone to increase your gaming efficiency, or find an initial start online and compete against hundreds of other players in matches determined purely by skill.
See this topic for practice challenges and compare your solutions to other players' solutions Can you achieve 200 productions on each map at 83 turns per round?
Install
Unzip to the mod folder, even if everything looks like this:
\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\Mods\Solitaire Sandbox\[13 files]
Restart Civilization, go to the main menu under Additional Content, disable all other mods and enable Solitaire Sandbox. Create a new game, go to the advanced settings, and select one of the three Solitaire Sandbox options from the Ruleset drop-down menu. Then configure other options as needed. See screenshot below.
Mod function details
Remove all AI players.
City states, barbarians and huts are disabled by default, but there are options to re-enable them.
Added a dropdown menu to select how many city states to place on the map, if any.
Since certain types of Great People (Scientists, Engineers, and Merchants) have very different effects and power levels, the mod restricts them by default so that only specific characters of each type can appear in each era. Alternatively, the game can be played as usual with all (random) Great People, or not played at all.
Added an option to show the map on round 1.
Removes all standard victory conditions except Scientific Victory (without an opponent, other conditions are meaningless).
Added new round victory conditions (production, science, culture, faith, gold) and total population victory. With this mod, the "Victory Condition" should be treated as an "Ending Condition", but the victory cutscene and menu will appear as normal.
Adds current empire-wide population and production to the top status bar each turn.
Added two new map sizes ("Solitaire" and "Sandbox") smaller than Duel, suitable for quick soloing.
I believe the only remaining source of randomness after these changes is city size expansion and which technologies/citizens get promoted from the remaining greats. Please correct me if I've overlooked anything else!
Fun fact: If you play Arabia, the "Last Prophet" will spawn in the second round. Feel free to delete him if you think it's too rude.
Good guys who can appear in the Solitaire Sandbox (default setting)
All prophets, generals, admirals, artists, writers and musicians can appear as usual.
Scientists: Aryabhata, Omar Khayyam, Emilie du Chatelet, James Young, Alan Turing, Erwin Schrödinger, Abdus Salam.
Engineers: Isidore of Miletus, Filippo Brunelleschi, Gustave Eiffel, Robert Goddard, John A Roebling, Wernher von Braun.
Businessmen: Marcus Licinius Crassus, Irene of Athens, Raja Todar Mal, John Spilsbury, John Rockefeller, Levi Strauss, Estee Lauder.
compatibility
The mod is fairly extensive, so expect limited compatibility with other mods. I'll start compiling a compatibility status list for other major mods over the next few days and list the results here.
Recommended mods with Solitaire Sandbox
My other two mods are Civ 6, Research Reminder and More Autosaves with this mod in mind. (Others' suggestions will appear here as I test them.)

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
