Really Advanced Setup Lite

About this mod Machine translation

Really Advanced Setup Lite

True Advanced Setup Lite

(Inspired by General Tso's Civ5 True Advanced Settings)

Allows specifying additional starting units, citizens, technologies and certain "benefits".

Allows specifying whether add-ons are given to AI players or only human players

Allows specifying whether "append" should only be given to "CIVILIZATION_ROME".

Allows specifying the starting era of the selected game to which the effect will be applied.

So if you want to change the game so that if the game starts in the Medieval Era and Roma gets two extra starting scouts, you can do that.

Specification is done in xml files rather than directly through the new "Advanced Launch" user interface.

Detailed instructions will be given in the main discussion thread

Just download from here since I can't update the CFC resources to the latest version: Dropbox ReallyAdvancedSetupLite.zip

Mac users

Some users reported that they were unable to use the mod on Mac. Others have been able. I don't have a Mac and know nothing about Macs so I can't test the mod on a Mac

The lua methods used are the ones exposed and used in Windows, as they are already set up to work through the windows game-dll-file. But the Dll file is Windows only and there is no such thing on Mac, so I don't know if the same method and functionality will work with lua on Mac.

You may also have a file editing "permissions" issue as I seem to remember this being an issue in Civ5 for people using Macs. At this point I'm probably full of talk bananas because as mentioned I don't know anything about Macs.

Allows specification as to whether the extras should be given only to "CIVILIZATION_ROME" for example.

Allows specification as to what selected game starting era to apply the effects to.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
