About this mod Machine translation

Proper Mountain Movement & Exploitation Mod Mountain Development

This mod allows for mountain development (a fairly simple variation) and mountain sports via cities, but only for selected unit types.

Instead of allowing all units to travel on the mountain, only the following unit types are allowed to travel across the mountain:

Civilian units (Settlers, Builders, GreatPersonIndividuals, Naturalists, Religious units);

Scout Troops (Scouts, Rangers); and,

Helicopters, observation balloons and non-mechanized support units.

The current version of the code finally solves the problem of GreatPersonIndividuals being unable to move in mountains, despite explicitly allowing this in the code. More instructions on customization are included in the SQL file.

Because of the way the movement system is designed in Civ 6, a unit that can cross a mountain can climb a mountain on the same turn as long as it has its full movement points (regardless of whether its base movement points are 5 or 1). Therefore, future plans for this model include introducing the opportunity for units trying to cross a mountain to be unable to move onto the mountain or be pushed back (simulating a failure to cross the mountain). This will be done via LUA code.

Another idea is to set up projects that allow a city that completes them to increase mountain production. Make mountains more valuable terrain over time

This mod enables mountain exploitation by cities (a fairly straightforward change) and movement over mountains, but only for select unit types.

Rather than permitting all units to travel over mountains, only the following units types are allowed to traverse the peaks:

Civilian Units (Settlers, Builders, GreatPersonIndividuals, Naturalists, Religious Units);

Recon Units (Scouts, Rangers); and,

Helicopters, Observation Balloons and non-mechanized Support Units.

The current version of the code finally resolves the issue where GreatPersonIndividuals were unable to move over mountains despite being explicitly permitted to do so in the code. Further instructions on customization are contained in the SQL file.

Because of the way the movement system is designed in Civ 6, as long as a unit that cantraverse the mountains has its full movement points, it can climb the peaks on the same turn (no matter whether its base movement points are 5 or 1). Accordingly, future plans for this mod include introducing a chance for the unit attempting to move over mountains to fail to move onto the mountain plot or to be pushed back (simulating a failure to cross a mountain range). This will be accomplished with LUA code.

Another idea is to set up Projects that would allow a city that complete them to increase mountain yields. making mountains an even more valuable terrain over time.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
