Numpad Unit Commands Numpad Unit Commands
Allows you to use the keypad to select/move units and perform area attacks. Designed as an alternative to messing around with the mouse when moving and selecting units.
Can be used with saved games.
future updates
- I will add a way to use the keypad to perform other unit commands so that the mouse can be used less often.
compatibility
- Works with any ruleset.
- Add your own UI files. It doesn't replace anything, so it's compatible with any other UI mod that doesn't try to use the same keys.
I can't move units even with num lock on
- View the troubleshooting discussion.
control
- "5" center view of selected unit. Double-clicking "5" will skip the unit's turn (or enter ranged attack selection, if available).
- 1,4,7,3,6 and 9 will move one unit at a time in 6 possible directions.
- "8" and "2" will select the next/previous ready unit respectively (unless range attack is selected).
- If no unit is selected, pressing the keypad will select the next available ready unit.
- The Mod will ignore when a key is held down for more than 2 seconds and it must be pressed and released quickly to register the action.
- Numpad key press will not queue any actions for the next turn.
Melee/ranged attack
- To melee attack a unit (or melee an adjacent one), a single press will show only the unit panel combat simulation.
- If ranged attack is available, double clicking "5" will enter ranged attack selection mode, otherwise the selected unit's turn will be skipped.
Once in remote attack mode:
- Numpad up, down and east, west keys will scroll selectable targets.
- To perform a ranged attack, double-click "5" again.
- Press "Exit" or the diagonal (1,7,9,3) keypad to exit remote selection mode.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
