Setup issues:
Minimum, maximum and default values are described in TOOLTIPS - they can be read by hovering the mouse over the text.
Experimental settings need to be tested by the community and can be enhanced with other mods.
If your game crashes, try different settings. I can't test all of them.
I'm asking you to help figure out what works and what doesn't.
Example:
- For 170x170 maps my game crashes to the desktop, but that may not be the case for everyone. The map size of 165 x 170 loads fine for me, so it might be a memory allocation limit or something. (Loading takes a long time on larger maps - it is recommended to disable barbarians on large maps.)
- Map size is not the same as map script - the map script determines the generation of the world, so there is no guarantee that the chosen map size will fit well with your scripted map and player numbers.
You can load the game and not see any players or starting locations because the game can't find a suitable place for you to spawn. Reloading the map/script …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
