Better Civ Icons Better Civilization Icons
This mod replaces many civilization and city-state icons with some more historically accurate or aesthetically pleasing changes. While some of the base game, vanilla icons are culturally relevant, they don't satisfy my desire for historical accuracy or a unique look. No more bulls for Spain, more bulls for Sumer! Sophisticated basmala replaces Arabian universal palm! Improved vanilla icon versions for Poland, Japan and Russia!
This mod will be updated as new DLC and expansion pack civilizations arrive, and when their symbols prove lacking.
Changed civilization icons:
- arab
- Australia (DLC, new colors)
- Brazil
- Germany
-Greece
- Japan
- Macedonia (DLC)
-Norway
- Persia (DLC)
- Poland (DLC)
- Rome
- Russia
- Spain
- Sumer
Changed city-state icons:
- Arma (DLC)
- Auckland (DLC)
- Brussels
- Jerusalem
- Kabul
- Lisbon
Also added a civilization icon color for France that better matches their in-game color scheme.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
