Overview

This is a modern rewrite of the old "81 Lots" mod to improve performance and fix bugs.

Includes optional "No Wires Required", "No Pipes Required" and "Crossing Boundaries" features.

Many thanks to emf, the author of the (very) original 81 Lots mod, and to the (of course) famous BloodyPenguin, who continued the development of this mod - the entire community owes them a huge debt of gratitude!

Unlock plots

By default, the mod will not change any unlock progress - if you are not using the "Unlock All" feature and have not yet met the conditions to unlock other tiles, then the mod will not modify this.

The mod includes an option (toggleable via the mod options panel) to ignore zone unlock progress in the game, allowing you to unlock as many tiles as you want. Or you can use the game's built-in "Unlock All" feature.

There are also buttons in the options panel to instantly unlock 25 plots inside or all 81 plots.

Additional features

Includes optional "No Wires Required", "No Pipes Required" and "Electric Roads" features (this mod requires creating your own custom power and water supply simulation to work properly beyond 25 lots, other mods that affect power and water supplies will not work properly).

No wires required

With this option selected, wires are no longer needed for power transmission (you still need to generate power, but don't have to worry about power delivery).

No need for pipes

With this option selected, pipes are no longer required for water/sewerage/heating (as with electricity, you still need supply/processing capabilities). You don't need to connect pipe segments to any water utility structures to prevent them from reporting errors; the mod handles this for you.

electric road

Roads now also function as power lines. You can activate this feature and the "no wires required" feature at the same time (obviously doesn't make much sense).

Klyte's Electric Roads 3 mod is compatible with this mod - it will override the mod's Electric Roads functionality and provide additional functionality (such as selecting which roads are affected).

Build outside an already owned plot of land

Similar to the "Cross the Line" mod, this option operates literally and can be toggled on/off at any time in the options panel. Note that this will not change any visibility settings outside of owning parcels: for example, area plans will not be visible and roads will show their low-resolution versions.

If you are using an older version of the mod, please do not subscribe to this mod

Older and incompatible mods may break this mod (these incompatible mods may cause "blue screen" loading failures or infinite loading issues when used with this mod).

Do not use this mod in any editor

When this mod is enabled, it will intentionally disable the editor button in the main menu to prevent breakage as it would have to patch the game code, which would break maps and assets saved in the editor. To use the editor, disable the mod in the content manager and restart the game.

(Most mods should not be used in the editor, so please disable other mods).

Do not reload using this or other mods. Please always return to the desktop between loads.

In-game, this mod will intentionally disable the "Load Game" and "Return to Mai …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
