Additional notes:
This is a documentation introducing the first-person camera mod v2.2 for the Cities: Skylines game. Change logs, source code, discussions, etc. can be viewed on the GitHub page, while more detailed usage guides are on the Wiki page. If you have questions or suggestions, please consider submitting them on the Issues page.
Updates include new ground clipping options and the option to exclude specific targets, and the introduction of LookAhead functionality in Walk-Through Mode (off by default). Please refer to the changelog (Steam/GitHub) for more details.
The quick start guide is as follows:
Free camera mode:
Enable mods in Content Manager.
**After the game/editor launches, press the " ~ " key (located to the left of Numpad 1) to switch to free camera mode.
Use the mouse to rotate the camera, the "W/A/S/D" keys to move horizontally, and the "PgUp/PgDn" keys to move vertically.
Press the "E" key to toggle auto-movement, allowing the camera to advance automatically.
Press the "Esc" or "~" key to exit the mode. **
Follow mode:
Click on any resident, tourist or driver, then click on the button with the camera icon in the lower right corner of the information panel to enter follow mode.
The camera follows the perspective of the selected person/vehicle.
Like free camera mode, use keyboard and mouse to move/view your surroundings.
To save the current camera settings (position offset and angle) as default, press the "\" key.
Press the "Esc" or "`" key to exit the mode.
Roaming mode:
Click the button with the camera icon below the Settings menu button to open the mod configuration panel.
Click "Start Walk-Through" to enter walk-through mode.
The camera follows any person/vehicle randomly.
Press the "Esc" or "`" key to exit the mode.
For more detailed guidance, please refer to the full documentation.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
