Clarity Clarity Optimization Module
🎮 **Customized BL4 cartoon rendering effect (Sobel edge detection)**
I have prepared two file downloads and a large number of comparison screenshots for everyone. More screenshots will be added in the future, especially daytime scene effects. I will continue to improve this mod and try other configuration options.
✨ Features
**NoCelShading**: Completely removes the cel-shading effect (classic Borderlands black outlines)
- ✅ Works on all resolutions
- 🚀 Expected to bring FPS improvements to low-end PCs
**ThinCelShading**: Lighten the thickness of cartoon rendering lines
- 🎨 Improved clarity while maintaining the core Borderlands style
- 🔍 4K has the best effect, 1440p has a slightly inferior effect but is still better than the original
- ⚠️ The effect is not obvious at 1080p resolution
💡 Please note: some textures have been baked with cel-shaded aesthetics, these will remain unchanged
🔧 Compatibility Notes
This mod is compatible with other mods that create Engine.ini overlays in the "My Games/BL4" directory, such as Ultimate Engine Tweaks. As long as these engine adjustments do not involve editing of Sobel values, there will be no conflicts.
⚠️ If you run other mods or Reshade tools that modify shading/rendering, the effect of this mod may be offset.
🎯 All other mods are well compatible and this mod will not disable the achievement system.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
