Overview
This custom Vault Hunter replaces Zer0 (obviously). For those of you who haven't modded and want to know and tell what this character looks like, talks and does other stuff like Zer0, well, Borderlands 2 modding is very limited in what we can do. We can't add new things (at least not yet), we can only redefine existing things by changing their definition. This is how modding works in BL2. Now that I've got that out of the way, let's talk about Strife.
He's a former Hyperion assassin who doesn't like what Jack is doing as Hyperion's new CEO. He went to Jack and Jack for who he was and considered it an insult to his character. He has been hunting the conflict ever since.
The character is based on disguise, Hyperion technology (obviously again) and corrosive elements. I tried to make him feel and play differently than Zer0 (I think I succeeded to some extent). Depending on your build and playstyle, you can gain the benefit of maintaining penetration for longer periods of time, or you can abuse your action skills to take advantage of other abilities.
Characters come with modified action skills to fit the theme, 32 new(ish) skills, an introductory ECHO, all new Class Mods, custom Quests, and Unique guns (more on that in the features section).
Installation and compatibility
Mods are saved in .blcm format and require you to import the mod in BLCMM to use it. Additionally, this mod uses patches that need to be merged with BLCMM. You can find and download BLCMM here.
I recommend that you disable all other mods that modify Zer0 to avoid any conflicts;
This mod should be UCP compatible (it should simply override all UCP changes).
feature
New class ID: INFILTRATOR;
Changed character names and customizations;
Introductory ECHO;
Modified Action Skill, INFILTRATE: Activates your suit and cape for a few seconds. The longer you're invisible, the more damage your next shot does, but the faster you end the cloak, the less energy you use and the shorter the cooldown. Additionally, after Infiltration is activated, you regain 50% of your maximum health;
INFILTRATION, APTITUDE and INQUIRY skill trees feature 32 new skills;
His melee attacks become corrosive damage and can apply status damage to enemies. Both damage and status damage are based on your melee damage bonus, but it can also benefit from elemental bonuses. New FX to adapt to changes;
All new Class Mods, including ALL Legendary and Alignment Class Mods from Tiny Tina's Attack on Dragon Keep DLC;
Custom Quest, RECONCILIATION: An enhanced version of "Defend the Tower". When the train crashes at the beginning, you need to retrieve your lost unique gun (it's in the container you defended). Hyperion got it, now you want it back;
Now, as I mentioned earlier, I need to make some notes on his unique gun. This is something I've developed for most of my guns and I'm a work in progress (more on that soon(TM)). I call it firearms skills. Basically, it gives a given character a unique attribute that enhances certain aspects of that character. Strife's unique gun is the NOX, which increases the efficiency of his energy conversion skills.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
