About this mod Author’s original text
Freeze Ray
A Bopl Battle ability. Stop someone where they stand.
Fire a ray. Whoever it hits is sealed in a block of cracking ice for a second and a half —
unable to move, act, or use anything — and the block grows and shrinks with them, so a player
hit by a growth ray is frozen in a bigger one.
It also freezes a Sheep Bomb's sheep if that mod is installed, icing it in place mid-walk. That
is optional: with the Sheep Bomb absent, nothing changes and nothing breaks.
- Freeze: 1.5 seconds
- Cooldown: 3 seconds
- Also freezes: sheep from the Sheep Bomb mod, if present
- Dependencies: BepInEx only
Installing
Install Mod Manager or r2modman, then launch the game from the mod manager.
The ability appears in the ability-select grid.
By hand: drop FreezeRay.dll into BepInEx/plugins/FreezeRay.
Playing online
Private lobbies work — invite a friend through Steam as usual. Both players need the same
mods installed, or the ability lists won't line up. can export your whole
profile as a code for them to import.
Public matchmaking is disabled by the game whenever any mod is loaded. That's Bopl's rule, not
this mod's.
Building from source
Requires the.NET SDK and a Steam copy of Bopl Battle.
dotnet build -c Release
The paths to the game and to your mod profile are set at the top of FreezeRay.csproj — change
them to match your machine. Close the game before building; Windows locks the DLL while it
is loaded.
Artwork lives in Resources/ and is compiled into the DLL, so PNG edits only take effect
after a rebuild.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
- For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.
Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
