Samurai Blade replaces JMB HP3 (includes laser removal)
——MOD details
This mod replaces Claire's M9 Samurai Blade model with JMB Hp3 + laser sight.
It includes an additional feature to eliminate the laser sight and instead give you the default crosshair.
——Known errors
It is recommended that you activate this mod before picking up the gun inside the patrol car.
If it's already in your save, or if it's in your inventory or reserves, the laser will still be there.
You won't see an expanding magazine when gear is modified but you still get ammo increases.
(Think it's a magic bullet, hidden in the gun)
The icons in the menu remain as JMB HP3, both modeled and unmoded.
- Unconscious characteristics
In the model viewer and animated with Leon "threadend" Marvin, the weapon uses the standard Samurai Edge texture.
In normal gameplay, however, the model will use a variant of Chris.
Currently, I don't know why. I used the standard model file and deleted all concentrations of the pre-purchased gun but got stuck.
As a personal solution, I used a texture mod, converted the Chris model into a Kenneth gun prototype, copied the file, and it's now consistent.
If anyone could create a texture mod for Black, like the regular Beretta, it would be bloated.
-Install
I recommend using the Fluffy Manager 5000 installation, but if you insist on doing overlays:
Unzip the .rar and paste the folder "contents" into the game directory "\steamapps\common\RESIDENT EVIL 2 BIOHAZARD RE2"
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
