Not available for Windows/PC editions, nor for Windows editions running through compatibility layers such as CrossOver, Wine, Whiskey, Parallels, etc.
Currently, RE2 only supports the Non-RT (non-ray pursuit) version of Mod, and does not support the RT (ray pursuit) version of Mod. If the original author provides RT and Non-RT downloads separately, please select the Non-RT version.
Software introduction
Jacob Mod Manager 0.2.0 officially joins the native Mac version of "Resident Evil 2: Remake" support, providing graphical Mod import, analysis, conversion, organization, installation, enablement, disabling, conflict prompts, safe removal and rollback processes.
The manager can handle many Mod packages originally created for the corresponding PC version of the game, but being compatible with the PC version Mod format does not mean that all PC Mods can run on Mac. Actual compatibility depends on resource type, game version, file paths, dependencies, and modification methods.
Jacob Mod Manager does not contain, provide, or distribute any mods. Players need to download it from the original author or Mod hosting platform, and then import it into the manager. Please comply with the original author's authorization scope and usage requirements.
Main functions
Native macOS graphical interface, designed for Apple Silicon Macs
Import, browse, search, filter and manage compatible Mod Packs
Analyze files, resources, compatibility status and risk warnings before importing
Convert supported RE Engine models, materials, maps, prefabs, scenes, actions, and physics assets
Automatically rebuild and verify managed game patches

Safely disable, remove and rollback without manually modifying game packages
Supports launching native Mac games directly from the manager
How to use
Install and launch the native Mac version of "Resident Evil 2: Remastered" at least once to confirm that the game runs normally without modifications.
Download and install Jacob Mod Manager 0.2.0 from the official website.
Follow the prompts to select the installation location for the native Mac version of RE2.
Download the Non-RT (non-ray pursuit) version of the Mod corresponding to the PC version of the game by yourself, and check the original author's requirements.
Import the mod tarball into the manager and check for compatibility status, warnings and optional components.
Enable the mod and wait for conversion, patch rebuild, verification and installation to complete.
Enter the game to check the effect; if you need to remove it, please close the game first, then disable or delete it through the manager.
Currently only RE2 Non-RT version Mod is supported.
Mods that rely on Windows-specific code such as Windows DLLs, EXE loaders, REFramework plug-ins or scripts, runtime injection, etc. cannot be converted to native Mac Mods by importing alone.
Unknown, executable, or unsafe resources are denied or omitted.
Large mods may require more temporary disk space when converting and rebuilding patches.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
