Install
- Unzip both bink2w64.dll and bink2w64_original.dll files into the bin folder under the game installation directory.
Example path (not absolute):
"D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\bin"
- (Important!) Confirm when prompted to overwrite.
uninstall
- In the bin folder under the game installation directory:
- Delete `NativeMods` folder.
- Delete `bink2w64.dll`.
- Rename `bink2w64_original.dll` to `bink2w64.dll`.
FAQ
- Loading failed
- Both files need to be put into the bin folder.
- I don't have a `NativeMods` folder!
- This mod is only a plug-in loader. If the native plug-in you are installing does not come with this folder, you can create a new `NativeMods` folder in the bin folder.
- Data integrity error
- The loader replaces the game files and this error can be ignored.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
