Wheel of Fortune Tracker (Balatro mod)
⚠️ BETA — this is still being tested. Things may break or change. If something goes wrong, screenshot any error text (from the "Lovely" console window or Balatro's own window) and report it.
Install (easiest) —
This mod is published, the Balatro mod database.
- Install the Mod Manager (or r2modman) and pick Balatro as the game
- Search for "Wheel of Fortune Tracker" inside the manager, or open the package page and click Install with Mod Manager
- It'll pull in Lovely + Steamodded automatically as dependencies — just launch the game through the manager
Tracks Wheel of Fortune's success/fail rate and which edition it grants (Foil/Holo/Polychrome), this run and over your whole play history.
Stats show up in-game in two places:
- Run Info (the popup you open mid-run) → WOF Stats tab — this run's numbers.
- Stats screen (the one with Best Hand/Highest Round) → a Lifetime WOF Successes row in the Progress panel — your permanent career total, styled like Deck Stake Wins.
- Also always available under Mods → Wheel of Fortune Tracker → WOF Stats as a fallback.
It never touches your real Balatro save or Steam stats. Lifetime numbers are stored in this mod's own save data, completely separate from profile.jkr/career stats. Uninstalling the mod just removes its folder; your actual save is untouched at every point.
Install (manual, Windows, Steam version of Balatro)
📥 DOWNLOAD THE MOD FOLDER
- Install Lovely (the mod loader):
- Download the latest lovely-x86_64-pc-windows-msvc.zip from
- In Steam, right-click Balatro → Manage → Browse local files
- Extract version.dll from the zip into that folder (next to Balatro.exe)
- Install Steamodded (the mod framework):
- Press Win+R, type %AppData%\Balatro, hit enter
- Create a Mods folder here if it doesn't exist
- Download Steamodded from (green "Code" button → Download ZIP), extract it, and rename/move the extracted folder so it ends up as Mods\smods\ (the files should sit directly inside smods, not nested one folder deeper)
- Install this mod:
- Copy the WheelOfFortuneTracker folder into %AppData%\Balatro\Mods\ so you end up with Mods\WheelOfFortuneTracker\WheelOfFortuneTracker.json
- Launch Balatro from Steam as normal. A separate console window titled "Lovely x.x.x" popping up briefly confirms the loader is working. On the main menu, a "Mods" button will appear — Wheel of Fortune Tracker should be listed there.
Notes
- This tracks Wheel of Fortune specifically, since it's the only Tarot card with a random success/fail outcome.
- If the "Mods" menu shows an error, or Wheel of Fortune Tracker doesn't appear, send whatever Lovely printed in its console window and I'll fix it.
- Testing cheat included: the WOF Stats tab has a "Give Wheel of Fortune (test purposes)" button that drops a Wheel of Fortune tarot straight into your consumable slots, so you can test success/fail without waiting on shop RNG. This is a leftover testing tool from beta development, not a real feature — it'll likely be removed (or made optional) once the mod is stable.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
- For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.
Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide. These mods need a community loader first — the bundled readme usually points to its download.
