Stakes Redux
A rework of the stakes and stickers in Balatro.
About this mod Author’s original text
Stakes Redux
A mod that completely overhauls nearly all of the Stakes in Balatro for a more fun experience.
Stakes
- new Pink Stake: skipping blinds also skips the shop. This is actually a change in behavior for White Stake, allowing the player to visit the shop after skipping a blind.
- Red Stake: all blind rewards are $1 less
- Orange Stake: Editions are twice as rare
- new Yellow Stake: Interest is earned at a rate of $1 for every $6 owned
- Green Stake: faster ante scaling (same as vanilla Green Stake)
- new Cyan Stake: hand level ups are 80% as effective
- Blue Stake: When cards are discarded, one less card is drawn
- Purple Stake: Showdown Blinds are encountered every 4 Antes
- Black Stake: even faster ante scaling (same as vanilla Purple Stake)
- new Sticker Stakes, that apply the Eternal, Perishable, Rental, and new Gigantic, Blighted, and Traitorous stickers on top of White Stake and other Sticker Stakes only
- Gold Stake: X1.25 shop costs, applies both Black Stake and all the Sticker Stakes
- new Platinum Stake: stickers may appear on playing cards in the shop
Stickers
Stickers can optionally be moved to a separate RunSelect page, completely independent of your Stake selection. Want to play with just Rental stickers on White Stake? Only the new stickers that Stakes Redux adds on Yellow Stake? Gold Stake with no stickers at all? Go for it!
New stickers:
- Gigantic: Takes up 2 Joker slots
- Blighted: When this Joker triggers, a random playing card loses 4 Chips. Cards self-destruct once they reach 0 chips
- Traitorous: After a hand is played, gain X0.2 Blind size per card held in hand

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
- For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.
Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide. These mods need a community loader first — the bundled readme usually points to its download.
