structure

Pheromone Lab - This is the main crafting station, used to create pheromones, drugs, and syringes. Also used to extract DNA, hormones and drug precursors.

Research Station - This crafting station is used to create and upgrade features.

Blood boxes and blood banks - these are used to store and preserve blood samples, DNA and hormones..

project

Sampling syringe - used to collect blood samples. Available in 3 sizes, each produces more blood.

Blood samples - these can be taken from a wide variety of organisms. They can then be used to obtain DNA and hormones from the laboratory.

DNA - used to create traits.

Hormones - These are used in the manufacture of pheromones and some drugs.

Status Traits - These are temporary attribute boosts that can be added to a player or any creature. Each attribute has a potency of up to 17. (Health, Stamina, Weight, Melee, Speed)

Skill Traits - These are temporary attribute boosts and skills that can be added to a player. Each has 3 effects.

Pheromones - These pheromones are used to induce and passively tame creatures that are not normally passively tamed. The lure effect causes the closest creature to follow the player.

Drugs - Various drugs and precursors that can heal various player attributes. There are 3 variations of each drug. (Crude, Standard and Enhanced)

Autodispenser - Automatically uses medications in stock if there are enough.

Get blood, DNA and hormones

Start by making some sampling syringes. You can create the smallest one from the player's bracelet list, engram unlocked at level 20.

Place the syringe into the inventory of the desired creature and use "Draw Blood" from the context menu. The extracted sample will be placed in the creature's inventory.

You can extract blood from your own tames, or you can collect blood from wild creatures. Wildlife needs to be unconscious before extraction.

You should then craft the Pheromone Laboratory for DNA or Hormone Extraction, which is unlocked at level 40. Place the sample into the lab inventory and use the "Start Extraction" option in the UI. Extraction occurs over time.

By default, the lab will extract 2 DNAs from a blood sample. This can be toggled on the lab's UI to produce hormones.

Crafting and Upgrading Features

Once you have some DNA, you can start making traits.

They have 2 main types, skill traits and status traits. There are 2 sub-types of skill characteristics, active and passive.

When crafting status traits, you have a 25% chance of gaining skill traits.

Each creature has at least one skill trait you can gain. All have 3 potency levels and can be upgraded once you obtain 2 of the same type.

When you get 2 of the same type, get the trait from the workbench inventory and activate its radial menu.

From there select the Transmutation menu. A new inventory screen will open where you can place features.

After placing at least 2 of the same type in your inventory, the "Convert" button will be enabled.

You can then transform to upgrade traits and gain higher potency traits.

The new potency level will be the sum of the potencies of the traits used.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
