"Assassin's Creed: Odyssey" Real Quality ReShade v4.0

"I took care of them, every last one."

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTE

  • **Not compatible with in-game HDR**: Please make sure HDR is not enabled in the game menu**.
  • **Overlay Software**: Any overlay software (including Ubisoft's UPLAY overlay) may conflict with this ReShade.

✨ Module Introduction

This is the result of countless hours of careful debugging and testing:

**No fancy gimmicks, just a ReShade that can improve the visual effects of "Assassin's Creed: Odyssey". **

On April 17, 2021, the mod was completely rebuilt using ReShade 4.9.1. Better results are achieved using fewer shaders. **RR ACO** now provides **subtle but substantial visual improvements** without drastically reducing your FPS.

📦 Installation instructions

  • **Installation**: Unzip all the downloaded files or directly drag and drop them into your "Assassin's Creed: Odyssey" installation folder (that is, where `ACOdyssey.exe` is located).
  • **Uninstall**: Simply delete all the files you extracted, including any files starting with `"reshade."` in the installation folder.

🎮 Usage and customization

  • **Open the menu**: Press the **HOME** key to call out the ReShade menu.
  • **Customized effects**: You can freely check or cancel any special effects you don't like. Have fun experimenting and find the combination that works best for you!
  • **Switch Switch**: Press the **END** key to turn the entire ReShade effect on or off at any time.
  • **Screenshot**: Press the **PRINT SCREEN** key to take a screenshot using the ReShade function (ReShade UI will give a confirmation prompt), and the screenshot will be saved in your game installation folder.

⚡ How to increase FPS (in-game setting suggestions)

Based on the game's default graphics settings, the single setting that has the **biggest** impact on FPS is **Volume Clouds** (you can verify this yourself by running the benchmark). **Turn this setting down** to achieve a significant FPS increase with minimal visual loss.

**Anti-Aliasing Settings Tip**: Believe it or not, **turning off anti-aliasing may actually lower your FPS** (again, this can be verified with benchmarks). This is likely because Ubisoft's anti-aliasing technology involves rendering at a lower resolution. Make sure anti-aliasing is set to at least **"Low"**.

🖼️ Effect display

**All displayed pictures were taken using ReShade's PRINT SCREEN key, *not* the in-game photo mode. **What you see is what the game actually looks like when it's running on *my* machine, and the image has not been edited in any way (only converted to jpeg, which reduces the quality slightly).

**My test environment configuration:**

  • Resolution: 1920x1080
  • Resolution scaling: 200%

*Brightness: 50%

  • Vertical sync: *off*
  • Graphics quality: "Super High"

*RR ACO ReShade loaded and all enabled

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
