ICON Reshade, a cinematic quality enhancement preset that is bright rather than dark.

ICON Reshade quality preset

Hello everyone! 🎮 This preset is currently still in development (WIP), but I liked it so much that I decided to share it even though it's in its early stages.

✨ Default Features

This preset is quite simple, adding some cinematic feel and advanced effects such as depth of field (DOF), chromatic aberration, etc. The current color saturation is a bit low (although it looks good, but this will be adjusted in the future) because the original game's color saturation is just too high.

Unlike many of the great cinematic Reshade presets out there (I love them a lot, the authors are so talented), I often struggled with cutscenes or shadow scenes - the black sections were too dark (it was almost impossible to see the character's face during dialogue interactions, no matter how pretty the rest of it was). Therefore, this preset is designed to provide a bright, cinematic experience.

All criticism and suggestions are welcome as it is still under heavy development. 💪

📥 Installation Guide

  • **Install Reshade**: First, go to download and install the latest version of Reshade.
  • **Select Game**: After the installation is complete, double-click the Reshade .exe file, navigate to your Assassin's Creed: Odyssey game folder, and select the game's .exe file.
  • **Select API**: Reshade will prompt you to select DirectX 9 or DirectX 10+, please select **dx10+**. When asked, select "Yes" and install all checked shaders.
  • **Copy files**:
  • Go to the downloaded "ICON reshade" folder.
  • Copy the **reshade-shaders** folder to your game directory (the same folder as the game .exe file).
  • If prompted to overwrite, select **Overwrite All** (my package contains custom shaders and this is necessary for the preset to work).
  • **Complete installation**:
  • Move the **Iconreshade.ini** and **reshade.ini** files to the folder where the game.exe is located.
  • Launch the game and you're done! 🎉
  • **Activate Preset**: Press the **Home button** in the game to bring up the Reshade menu, use the drop-down menu to select **Iconreshade**, and everything should work normally.

🔧 Use and adjustment

**The only file currently required to install is version 1.3, which is the final version and contains tweaked and fixed medium depth of field (DOF). **

If you like this Reshade effect but feel it's too light or dark, you can go into the **Tonemap.fx** file and adjust the slider in increments of 20 to brighten or darken it to achieve the effect you want.

For any questions about this Reshade, such as wanting a stronger depth of field effect, etc., please feel free to ask in the comment area of this mod page, and I will definitely answer you. Thanks! 😊

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
