DustRemoval - Skin dust removal

✨ **A mod that shows how to edit textures with Forger, designed to inspire other creators! **

📖Module Introduction

I made this mod mainly to prove that editing textures with **Forger** is possible, and hopefully lead other authors to create or convert their own content as a result. I even wrote a guide explaining everything I did in the `DustRemoval` folder in the modder package.

**PLEASE NOTE**: The textures I edited are shared so the dirt will be removed from all characters, not just the protagonist.

**Prerequisites**: This mod requires Forger patch manager version **2.6** or higher to run.

---

📦 Version selection

  • **User Edition**: Contains a `.forger2` file and a `Shared_textures` folder. If you are not interested in modifying the game, please download this version.
  • **Modder Pack**: Contains three `.dds` files (instead of one) to make it easier to understand the principles.

---

🛠️ Installation Guide

  • Unzip the file.
  • Place the `DustRemoval.forger2` file and the `Shared_textures` folder into your `ForgerPatches` directory.

Mod Maker Package Installation

  • Unzip the file.

  • Start Forger and check the `No skin dirt (shared texture) - modder's version` option.
  • Start the game! 🎮

---

⚙️ Disable the module (common to both versions)

🗑️ Uninstall the module

  • Delete the `DustRemoval.forger2` file and the `Shared_textures` folder from the `ForgerPatches` directory.

Mod Maker Pack Uninstall

🔧 Troubleshooting

If you are having trouble running the game, please try the following steps in order:

  • **Step 1**: Start Forger, disable and delete the module files in the `ForgerPatches` directory.
  • **Step 2**: If it doesn’t work, start Forger again and click the `Reset all Forges` button. Launch the game, and if it runs fine, reactivate your mod.
  • **Step 3**: If it still doesn’t work, try to verify and repair the game files through Steam or Uplay.
  • **Step 4**: If all the above methods fail, I'm afraid you need to reinstall the game. 😔

⚠️ Known incompatibility

This mod is **not compatible** with Nude Greece's base texture.

**Tips**: Hypermorphic has removed the dirt from the textures in `Nude Skins for 2.6`, so if you're already using his mod, you don't need this one of mine.

🙏 Special thanks

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
