Malamutik

Malamutik adds a loyal companion dog to Valheim.

Public Beta

This mod is currently in active development and multiplayer testing.

Core features are implemented, but bugs and edge cases may still occur.

Feedback and bug reports are very welcome.

Controls

NumPad 9

• Summon companion
• Dismiss companion when nearby
• Emergency rescue when the companion is far away
• Cancel coat selection

E

• Interact with companion
• Revive a wounded companion when close enough
• Interact with your active Dog House

Dog House

The Dog House can be selected as your companion's home.

If the companion dies, it will return to its recorded home after the recovery period.

If no Dog House is available, the player's bed is used when possible.

Wounded System

When the companion receives lethal damage, it enters the Wounded state for 30 seconds instead of dying immediately.

Any nearby player can revive it during this time.

A successful revive restores 50% health.

If the timer expires, normal companion death recovery begins.

Multiplayer

Malamutik is designed for multiplayer, but the current version is still being tested in co-op.

Please report unexpected behaviour involving:

• multiple players and companions
• portals
• ships and modded transport
• ownership changes
• player disconnects
• Wounded and revive mechanics

Current Status

Version 0.5.0 Public Beta

The mod is playable and feature-complete for its current design, but is still undergoing multiplayer and compatibility testing.

Known Limitations

Compatibility with every modded vehicle or transport cannot be guaranteed yet.

This is a testing release. Save backups are recommended when testing heavily modded worlds.
