Cartur's Sailing
A Sailing skill for Valheim. Steer a ship under sail to level it, and the better a sailor you are,
the faster your ships go, the tougher the ones you build, and the more of the map you see from the
deck.
Inspired by Smoothbrain's Sailing
(deprecated in 2026) - credit to Smoothbrain for the idea. This is a separate mod, written from
scratch for Valheim 1.0; it shares no code with theirs.
What it does
The game has no sailing skill, so this adds one, listed with your other skills. It rises while you
hold the helm of a moving ship under half or full sail - faster at full sail.

| Speed | Ships you steer sail half again as fast. It's the helmsman's level that counts. |
| Hull | Ships you build have double hull health. It's the builder's level when the ship was built. |
| Exploring | The map reveals twice as far around you while you're aboard. |
Every bonus scales with level - at 50 you get half of it.
Hold Left Shift while using a ship's ladder to push the ship away from you instead of climbing
aboard - for getting a ship off a beach. It only works when nobody is at the helm.

| ExploreBonus | 1 | Extra map reveal radius aboard at level 100. 1 = twice as far, 0 = vanilla. |
| ShipSpeeds | empty | Speed per ship by prefab name, on top of everything else, e.g. Raft=1.2, Karve=1, VikingShip=0.9. Works for ships from other mods too. |
| HalfSailLevel | 0 | Level needed for half sail. Below it, half sail catches no wind and the ship coasts - row instead. 0 = no lock. |
| FullSailLevel | 0 | Level needed for full sail. Below it, full sail works as half. 0 = no lock. |
| NudgeSpeed | 2 | How hard the ladder nudge pushes, in metres per second. |
| EnforceVersion | true | On a server, refuse clients on a different version. |
| NudgeKey | Left Shift | Hold while using a ladder to nudge the ship. |
Install it on the server too and its numbers apply to everyone. The key stays your own.
Ships built before you installed it keep vanilla hull health - the builder's level is recorded when
a ship is placed.
Install
r2modman or Mod Manager. Needs BepInEx and Jotunn (which registers the new skill).

安裝與使用 安裝：BepInEx 外掛
- 本站下載的壓縮包就是模組本體，通常是 BepInEx 外掛（解壓後得到 .dll 或外掛資料夾）。
- 建議流程：用社群模組管理器（如 r2modman）選中本遊戲後匯入該模組，管理器會自動裝好 BepInEx 前置並處理依賴。
- 手動流程：先在遊戲目錄裝好 BepInEx 載入器，再把解壓出的 .dll 或外掛資料夾放進 BepInEx/plugins/。
- 啟動遊戲，BepInEx 控制台會列印載入日誌；確認這個模組出現在日誌裡即為安裝成功。
帶「前置依賴」的模組需要一併安裝，否則不會載入。功能開關通常在遊戲內或外掛自帶的設定檔裡調整。 多人連線時，主機與所有用戶端需要安裝一致的模組。
