I play mages a lot. I also like to mess around with my load order a lot, so I made this set of saves in case I corrupt my saves by launching my game through steam instead of MO2, so I'm fairly confident this is clean. The archive contains saves from various points of the questline.

With level 1 and no experience you should be able to use showracemenu and change the character to your liking with no bad effects. No other quests (aside from Unbound) completed aside from the love triangle and Brelyna's quest. Faendal and Brelyna are followers, because they're easy to get and do all the fighting for me. Went straight from Riverwood to Winterhold, pretty much. (one of my frustrations. Most archmage saves I've found involved many other quests completed). All archmage gear are in inventory in the last save.
