Hireable Delivery Driver

This mod adds a new virtual employee type: Delivery Drivers. These drivers transport items between loading docks on your different properties using delivery vans.

⚠️ Requires Alternate (Mono) branch

(In Steam, right click the game → Properties → Betas → select "alternate")

Features

• Hire delivery drivers with the same costs as Packagers ($500 signing fee, $100/day)
• Create delivery routes between any two loading docks on your owned properties
• Vans automatically spawn at the source dock and transport items to the destination
• Packagers can automatically load items into the delivery vans!
• Configurable fill threshold (10-100%) - van departs when threshold is reached
• Vans return to source automatically after being emptied at destination

Requirements

• MelonLoader ( dependency: LavaGang-MelonLoader-0.7.1)
• At least 2 properties with loading docks

How to Use

Basic Setup

• Press F9 to open the Delivery Driver Management UI
• Click "Hire Driver" to hire a new delivery driver ($500 signing fee)
• Select a Source Property and Dock number
• Select a Destination Property and Dock number
• Adjust the Fill Threshold (default 80%) - van departs when this % of slots are filled
• Click "Create Route & Assign Driver"

A delivery van will spawn at your source dock immediately!

Loading the Van

You can load items into the van in two ways:

Manual Loading

Walk up to the van at the source dock and interact with it like any vehicle storage.

Automatic Loading with Packagers (Recommended)

• Have a Packager assigned to the same property as your source dock
• Use the in-game management clipboard to create a route for the Packager:
• Source: A Packaging Station, storage shelf, or other transit entity
• Destination: The Loading Dock where the delivery van is parked
• The Packager will automatically move packaged products into the van!

Transport Cycle

• Loading at Source: Van waits at source dock, items can be loaded
• In Transit: When fill threshold is met, van disappears for ~5 game minutes
• Unloading at Destination: Van appears at destination dock, items can be removed
• Returning: Once van is empty for ~2 minutes, it returns to source

Managing Routes

• View all active routes in the UI
• See current status of each route (Loading, In Transit, Unloading, Returning)
• Click X to delete a route (van will be removed)
• Fire idle drivers by clicking "Fire" next to their name

Example Use Cases

• Central Distribution: Move products from your main warehouse to satellite locations
• Processing Pipeline: Transport raw materials from one property to another for processing
• Retail Restocking: Keep your storefronts stocked from a central production facility

Tips

• Routes require an idle driver - hire more drivers for more simultaneous routes
• If a dock is occupied by another vehicle, the van will wait
• Lower the fill threshold if you want faster, smaller deliveries
• Check the MelonLoader console for debug messages if something isn't working

Troubleshooting

• Van not appearing: Make sure the source dock isn't already occupied
• Packagers not loading: Ensure the packager has a route set with the loading dock as the destination
• Route stuck: Check if either dock is blocked by another vehicle
