Smooth Dash for Romestead
A quality-of-life mobility mod for Romestead built with BepInEx 6 (.NET CoreCLR).
What Does This Mod Do?
In vanilla Romestead, dashing decelerates you to 0 and forcibly cancels your velocity upon exit, causing your character to come to an abrupt dead stop at the end of every dash.
Smooth Dash seamlessly fixes this:
- Smooth Deceleration: Gradually reduces your velocity from dash speed (~400) directly into your character's natural running (~80) or walking (~40) speed.
- Continuous Momentum: Your character glides smoothly back into standard player control without freezing or halting movement.
- Toggle On/Off: Easily toggle the mod in-game at any time using a hotkey (default F6) or terminal command.
- Configurable: Fine-tune the deceleration duration or set custom exit speeds to your preference.
Controls & Commands
In-Game Hotkey
- F6 (Default): Toggles Smooth Dash on or off on the fly. (Rebindable in configuration).
In-Game Developer Terminal Commands
Open the console (~ or \ key):
- smoothdash — Toggles the mod on/off.
- smoothdash on / smoothdash off — Explicitly enable or disable.
- smoothdash status — Prints current status and settings.
- smoothdash speed — Sets a custom exit speed (0 for automatic player walk/run speed).
- smoothdash duration — Sets wind-down duration multiplier (e.g. 1.0 vanilla time, 1.5 longer glide).
Installation
Manual Installation
- Ensure BepInEx 6 (CoreCLR.NET 8) is installed in your Romestead directory.
- Extract SmoothDash.zip.
- Place SmoothDash.dll into your plugins directory:
\BepInEx\plugins\SmoothDash\SmoothDash.dll
- Launch the game and enjoy smooth dashing!

Located at BepInEx\config\com.atomiz.romestead.smoothdash.cfg (generated automatically upon first run):

Keyboard key to toggle Smooth Dash on/off in-game (e.g. F6, F7, G).

Custom exit speed at the end of dash. If 0.0, dynamically calculates player normal walk/run speed.

Default value: 0
TargetSpeedOverride = 0
Multiplier for dash wind-down duration (e.g. 1.0 = standard, 1.2 = slightly longer glide).

安裝與使用 安裝：按包內說明操作
- 解壓本站下載的壓縮包，先讀包內的 readme / 說明檔案。
- 多數模組依賴遊戲的模組載入器：常見做法是用社群模組管理器（如 r2modman）選中本遊戲安裝，由管理器自動處理載入器與依賴。
- 手動安裝時，把模組檔案放進遊戲目錄下對應的 Mod / plugins 資料夾。
- 啟動遊戲確認載入成功；帶「前置依賴」的模組需要把依賴一併安裝。
不同模組的安裝位置差異較大，包內說明是最可靠的依據。
