Original on-hit bands for the current game.

OG Bands brings Runald's Band and Kjaro's Band back to their launch-era behavior on the current version of Risk of Rain 2. Trade the modern cooldown and heavy-hit requirement for an 8% chance to unleash ice and fire on eligible hits.

Every hit gets a chance

• Shared 8% chance on hit, scaled by the triggering hit's proc coefficient. Owning both bands makes them activate together.
• No cooldown and no 400% damage threshold. Ordinary attacks and eligible proc hits can trigger them.
• Together is better. When you own both bands, they share one roll and activate together.
• Stack for damage. Extra bands increase damage rather than adding cooldowns or extending the ice slow.

Kjaro's tornado regains its original movement, velocity curve and narrower hitbox. Band damage uses the original processed-hit input and launch proc formula, so the percentages above are coefficients rather than a promise to multiply every triggering hit by that amount. In-game pickup text and descriptions reflect the restored behavior.

Focused on the bands

Extracted from Classic Route's band restoration. This standalone mod changes Runald's and Kjaro's Bands only: other items, enemy spawning, difficulty, stages and Void content keep their existing behavior. Singularity Band keeps its modern functionality. Standard runs only; Simulacrum retains modern bands.

Installation

Install with r2modman or Mod Manager. For manual installation, install BepInEx and place OGBands.dll in BepInEx/plugins/OGBands. Restart the game after installation.

Compatibility

Use matching mod installations for all players when playing multiplayer. Multiplayer behavior has not been tested. Do not combine with other band reworks. OG Bands stays inactive when Classic Route is loaded, because Classic Route already includes these changes.

Validation

Extracted from Classic Route 0.4.0, whose band hooks loaded successfully on Steam build 25475991. This standalone package compiles and its installed-game patch sites are checked; standalone live gameplay remains untested.
