Add-only

This mod adds its songs. It does not replace or modify any of the game's own

music, so the stock soundtrack is untouched, the mod survives game updates, and

it stacks with other mods.

Install

Install from the ReSkate launcher's MODS page, or drop the folder into

Mods\ beside Skate.exe and restart.

Needs a ReSkate runtime that reads reskate-music.json. Older builds will not

show the playlist.

Using it

Radio button on the interaction wheel -> radio playlists -> Skate 3 Soundtrack.

What 2.0.0 fixes

This is a rebuild on a different foundation. Earlier versions replaced the game's

own songs, and most of the complaints came from the limits of doing that.

• No more missing tracks. A replaced song had to fit inside the slot it took

over, and the long ones had nowhere to go. The six that were cut are back, and the playlist is complete.

• Nothing in the game is replaced. Earlier versions overwrote 40 of

the game's songs to make room. Those are all back.

• Works on custom maps, with no per-map workaround. Map mods ship their own

copy of the game's music and used to override a music mod on their map; these

tracks are new, so there is nothing to override.

• The install error is gone. The old builds shipped a file per custom map, and

one of those paths was long enough to break Windows' 260-character limit, so the

installer stopped partway. That whole mechanism is gone.

• Survives game updates, instead of breaking when a shipped file changes.
• Cover art, and a playlist name that can contain spaces.
• Tracks play to the end and the station advances on its own. Both were

consequences of fitting audio into someone else's slot.

• Volume. The rip sat about 7 dB under the game's own music. Every track

is levelled to -15 LUFS now, so it does not sound quiet next to the rest.

Compatibility

• Runs alongside Skate 2 Soundtracks — different songs, different playlist.
• Works on custom maps.
• Does not touch levels, cosmetics, progression or settings.
• Stereo 48 kHz Opus, levelled to -15 LUFS, the loudness of the game's own music.

Credits

All music is the work of the credited artists. This mod only carries it into the

game's own music system; nothing here claims any rights to the recordings.
