Skate 2 Soundtracks

The skate 2 soundtrack as a radio station in skate., with cover art.

35 tracks in their own playlist, selectable from the in-game music menu.

The songs are added alongside the game's own music. Your stock soundtrack

stays exactly as it is, the mod survives game updates, and it stacks with other

mods.

Install

Install from the ReSkate launcher's MODS page, or drop the folder into

Mods\ beside Skate.exe and restart.

Needs a ReSkate runtime that reads reskate-music.json. Older builds will not

show the playlist.

Using it

Radio button on the interaction wheel -> radio playlists -> Skate 2 Soundtrack.

The Specials - Ghost Town in the tracklist is the copy the game

already ships, claimed by this playlist rather than shipped twice.

What 2.0.0 fixes

A rebuild on a different foundation. Up to 1.6.0 this mod had to overwrite the

game's own songs to make room for its own, and nearly every complaint traced back

to that one decision. It no longer does.

• The whole tracklist is here. An overwritten song had to fit inside the slot

it took, and the long ones had nowhere to go. The five that were cut are back.

• Your stock music is intact. 1.6.0 overwrote 30 of the game's songs.

All of them are back.

• Works on custom maps, with no per-map workaround. Map mods ship their own

copy of the game's music and used to override a music mod on their map; these

tracks are new, so there is nothing to override.

• The install error is gone. The old builds shipped a file per custom map, and

one of those paths was long enough to break Windows' 260-character limit, so the

installer stopped partway. That whole mechanism is gone.

• Survives game updates, instead of breaking when a shipped file changes.
• Cover art, and a playlist name that can contain spaces.
• Tracks play to the end, and the station advances on its own. Both were

consequences of fitting audio into a slot sized for something else.

Compatibility

• Runs alongside Skate 3 Soundtrack — different songs, different playlist.
• Works on custom maps.
• Does not touch levels, cosmetics, progression or settings.
• Stereo 48 kHz Opus, levelled to -15 LUFS, the loudness of the game's own music.

All music is the work of the credited artists. This mod only carries it into the

game's own music system; nothing here claims any rights to the recordings.
