Big Doom

Big Doom introduces a fully functional shareware version of Doom right inside the game's credits area. Distract from the end of the journey with even more gaming. How like life.

When you get to the projector screen and couches, simply type iddqd while near the screen to launch Doom Shareware. Type iddqd again to close it out.

Note on Cheats: Yep, that means typing iddqd functionally disables god mode. All other Doom cheat codes still work as expected.

Save games work!

It's currently client-side single player. If you own Final Doom or a similar full commercial copy, you can remove doom1.wad and replace it with DOOM.wad, DOOM2.wad, TNT.wad, or PLUTONIA.wad. FREEDOOM1.WAD and FREEDOOM2.wad should also work.

Controls

Highly recommend you sit in one of the nearby couches to lock your walker in place. If you try to play while standing, standard game controls could interfere. Maybe you like the challenge.

Pro-Tip: Using Mouse 1 makes it look like your character is physically pointing at the projector screen to shoot. This amuses me.

To Do, Maybe

• Optimize, optimize, optimize.
• Figure out a way to enable music without the game crashing out immediately.
• Make it so other players can watch your run.
• Maybe look into multiplayer connectivity for co-op or deathmatch.
• Make the game screen align with the projector screen perfectly.
• Add better support for alternate WAD and pwad files.
