Big Balloons

Big Balloons lets you turn nearby light buoy orbs into Balloon Kid style floaters above your head.

One gives your jumps a bit of a boost.

Two will let you float across wide gaps.

Three takes you to the sky.

Fully configurable for taste.

Pairs well with Speakerbox if you

Press 8 by a cluster of them and they all turn into balloons at once.

Configuration

All of this can be edited within com.gogogadgetjustice.bigwalk.bigballoon.cfg or via Mod Settings.

Collect Key = 8

Release Key = 7

Max Tethered Orbs = 8

Attach Radius = 2

Distance (meters) within which a loose buoy auto-tethers to the player while collecting is active.

Buoyancy Factor Per Orb = 3.5

Continuous upward acceleration added per tethered orb — raises jump apex and slows ascent/descent.

Terminal Descent Speed Per Orb = 0.6

Additional clamp (m/s) subtracted from max downward fall speed per tethered orb — more orbs = longer hang time coming down.

Hover Height Above Anchor = 1.4

Base height above the torso anchor for the bouquet of tethered orbs.

Hover Backward Offset = 0.3

How far behind the player's facing direction the bouquet sits, so it reads as coming off the back, not floating directly overhead.

Orb Spread Radius = 0.28

Base horizontal radius (meters) of the golden-angle spread ring, so orbs don't overlap.

Orb Spread Radius Growth = 0.03

Extra radius added per orb index, so later orbs sit slightly further out.

Vertical Stack Per Orb = 0.12

Small height increase per additional orb, layered on top of the horizontal spread.

Follow Lerp Speed = 8

How quickly a tethered orb catches up to its hover slot (higher = snappier).

String Width = 0.03

Width of the tether string line renderer.

To Do

• Bigger Balloons that includes a quick-pop button to clear all active balloons in the scene instantly.
• Sometimes if you let one loose and it collides with a tethered floater, it'll get stuck in the air for a bit like a cartoon.
• Get dozens and restarting the session can leave you stuck up in the sky looking down at the island.
